“Some digital mockup (DMU) tools provide a vast array of functionality but, prove too difficult to use. However, customers who want the next generation 3D CAD visualization tool quickly select KISTERS 3DViewStation,” said Kelly Baumann of KISTERS North America.
The Business Development Manager explained, “During the comparison of competing products, all customer requirements are reviewed: file format support as well as interactive functions to view, navigate, inspect and analyze their own CAD models. Often trial customers will prepare CAD data for a review meeting or author work instructions for the shop floor during their free trial period.”
“At the end of some evaluations, more than one software may fulfill all predefined functional requirements… but the intuitiveness and ease-of-use of 3DViewStation set it apart, and ultimately users choose KISTERS’ software as the best fitting product available,” Baumann commented.
From day one, KISTERS has developed 3DViewStation based on customer requirements. Baumann emphasized that the application is continuously enhanced in response to customer needs and requirements. In fact, this attention motivated the recent addition of a new 3D CAD import dialog, to guide the most inexperienced user to choose the right settings.

For many users, the Windows interface provides familiarity, making it easy to navigate more than 180 interactive functions – even when 3DViewStation is used via browser on tablets or smartphones. For power users who want extremely advanced analytics and DMU, Baumann suggested that a desktop version of the software is available as well.
