Water Observing Technology Forum

The University of Alabama, Alabama Water Institute (AWI) and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Next Generation Water Observing System (NGWOS) will host the inaugural Water Observing Technology Forum.

The 23-25 April 2024 event in Tuscaloosa, AL is also supported by the Cooperative Institute for Research to Operations in Hydrology (CIROH).

The forum will showcase the latest research into innovative technologies and methods for measuring water quantity, quality, and availability.

This year’s themes are

  1. Imagery as Data
  2. Mobile Monitoring Systems
  3. Industry Partnerships and Technology Showcase

Participants will represent federal and state agencies, industry, academia, resource management agencies, and non-governmental organizations. In-person attendance will be limited to 150 registrants to maximize networking and demonstration opportunities.  However, virtual attendance will be available to all interested parties.

In addition, tours of the new state-of-the-art USGS Hydrologic Instrumentation Facility (HIF) located on the University of Alabama campus will be given.

Our experts in water sensors & software will be present to discuss innovations in ground-based and remote sensing, advanced hydrological data analytics & forecasting.
