Perform wall thickness measurements and analysis using ray method; displays results as a heat map.
Ahead of COE 3D Experience and TechniFair, KISTERS has released version 2017 of 3DViewStation Desktop. The 3D CAD viewer and universal viewer now features several updates for engineers and designers. Users can now analyze wall thickness via rolling ball method and sections of selections.
With high performance rendering and flexible integration with leading PLM systems characterize this design software. 3DViewStation offers current and mature importers for a broad range of 3D and 2D formats. Formats include CATIA, NX, Creo, SolidWorks, SolidEdge, Inventor, JT, 3D-PDF, STEP, DWG, DXF, DWF.
“3DViewStation provides a rich set of analysis functions used daily by many in the manufacturing industry,” said Jim Eardly, OEM industry veteran and Sales Manager with KISTERS North America .
Basic functions include measurement of sections. Now users have the option sections of selections. Advanced analysis functions allow for 2D and 3D comparisons, projected area calculations, draft angle analysis, and clash detection.
“Users can also analyze wall thickness based on the ray method,” Eardly added. “Results are shown as a heat map. Graduated colors reflect calculation results. Depending on the geometry, the new alternative rolling ball method leads to much better results.”
KISTERS continuously enhances CAD visualization software in response to customer needs and requirements. Use products as stand-alone. Alternatively, implement versions with a PLM, ERP or other product configuration system via APIs. For cloud, portal and web-solutions, an HTML5-based WebViewer solution is available without software installation. All file formats can be used in combination with the intelligent navigation and hyperlinking features to address needs of complex integration scenarios.
