unify control over an array of remote data collection devices

We’ve developed a single platform with multiple communication channels to unify control over the wide array of remote data collection devices in your monitoring network.

Our simultaneous online data acquisition (SODA) solution easily manages data storage and dissemination as it polls devices which use nearly every communication protocol for automated, fast, reliable and secure data collection.

It communicates with your data collection units via phone, ISDN, GSM, UMTS, GPRS, Internet, radio or satellite.

Multiple channels concurrently handle a range of tasks from your monitoring stations.

Embedded software enables hydrologic technicians to perform basic data visualization, management and editing. In addition, users can create and trigger jobs.

Your benefits

1

Easily manage your monitoring network & its diverse devices

One platform effectively manages multiple communication channels.

2

Flexibly manage all data simultaneously collected

Multiple channels & load balancing enable simultaneous data tasks like arrival, export & distribution.

3

Avoid data loss across simultaneous & independent tenants

Load balancing optimizes all available resources across up to 64 serial interfaces running in parallel.

4

Get & review audit trails of data activity

View data based on a specific station, job or applied filter; all data & settings are backed up.

5

Increase data security

Assign user roles to control access and secure information.

How it works

Product Highlights

  • Compatible with nearly every sensor and transfer protocol

Compatible with nearly every sensor and transfer protocol

With more than 60 years in environmental data management, we have developed IT solutions with multiple communication channels to unify control over your remote monitoring network.

The Simultaneous Online Data Acquisition (SODA) platform is ideal for consolidating data from multiple data loggers by different manufacturers. Communicate with data collection units via diverse paths such as phone, ISDN, GSM, UMTS, GPRS, Internet, radio and satellite. Users control settings for transfer directions and transfer protocols such as IP-telemetry, remote call, file transfer, web services and more.

The KISTERS Data Acquisition Tool (KiDAT)software utility automates many data acquisition and preprocessing tasks. It enables users to schedule routine data collection and then applications run in the background or continuously, freeing up time and attention.

    • The utility performs web scraping to gather information from websites without available APIs — giving you choices to import, convert, or retrieve files from public websites. Users commonly use this tool to get stream flow data published by USGS or meteorological data by NOAA, and specify how often information from that source is integrated with their KISTERS data management system.
    • The same utility also automates file conversion, for example files with any specified delimiter can be converted to the .zrxp format. Alternatively, exchange numbers can be created from the data file name and/or any number of delimited blocks within the data file in order to serve as navigation identifiers.

KiDAT settings give users options to specify an application on the local computer performing this service, processes that should be applied to the application, which user account to initiate the application, and how often the application should be executed.

Optimized computing resources by load balancing

Load balancing enables all available computing resources to be used efficiently. This design ensures the highest possible performance. Monitor system performance metrics including CPU load and available free space on the hard drive.

All basic data pertaining to acquisition links and target systems are stored to ensure 2-3 months of full operational independence from our data management and reporting software. Default backup settings store all necessary data and settings, allowing for quick system recovery or restoration as needed.

Pair with our data management software for advanced editing, reporting, model integration, and long-term data storage.

Simultaneous & independent data collection for multiple interfaces

Different communication channels run in parallel. In addition to IP-based channels, up to 32 modems can be connected. Up to 64 serial interfaces can run in parallel.

  • Intuitive sensor monitoring & alarm settings

Intuitive sensor monitoring & alarm settings

Easily create and manage monitoring stations, loggers, test jobs and data acquisition jobs.

Deploy push applications using data transfer protocols.

Opt to fall back into pull operations if push operations fail.

In addition, easily define and monitoring thresholds for individual sensors or groups of devices.

Manage alarm recipients, so appropriate persons or teams on duty are aware and have maximum time to respond.

Retrieve statistics on alerts & notification logs to identify and investigate trends.

  • Standard exports formats and methods

    Standard exports formats and methods

Collected raw data can be exported in different file formats using different distribution methods and specified target systems.

All basic data pertaining to acquisition links and target systems are stored for 2-3 months.

Since SODA only stores remote monitoring network data for a few months, pairing it with WISKI — KISTERS the long-term data management system — is recommended.

One solution conveniently brings together all raw data, making them available for storage, quality control & further processing.
